  • How Often Should I Get My Bike Tuned Up?
There are a few answers to this questions. See below a for situation-specific response: If you purchase your bike from a Big Box Store like Canadian Tire or Walmart (essentially, any place that does not specialize in bike repairs), you should get a tune-up immediately, before you go for your first big ride. And especially if the bike is for your child. While the bike sits in the store, they are fiddled with, ridden, moved around - make sure your bike is safe before getting on. If you're a daily rider, we would recommend getting a tune-up at least every 3 to 4 months. If you're a casual rider (weekend rides, family rides...), we would highly recommend getting a tune-up at least twice a year. However, at minimum, you should get your bike tuned up once a year, in the spring, after it's been sitting stagnant for many months.
  • My Chain Keeps Falling Off, I Keep Putting it Back On, But It Keeps Coming Off
When it comes to the mechanics of your bike, we highly suggest you don't attempt to do any maintenance yourself. Completing repairs on your bike without having bike repair knowledge puts you and your children at risk. If you have any concerns about your bike or your child's bike, seek a qualified technician. Don't risk your life and the life of your family just to save a few bucks.
  • Do you offer a discount for multiple bikes?
Since our prices are already so low, we do not - at this time - offer discounts for multiple bikes. Should a customer call multiple times throughout the year to have multiple bikes serviced at the same time, then a discount can be discussed.
  • How do I see how many points I've earned?
You can find out how many points you've earned by navigating to your Member Profile and clicking "My Rewards" in the left-hand menu. Or you can click here.
  • What happens after I book my appointment?
Please keep in mind that all bookings are requests. They are not official bookings. Since we service all of Ottawa and the surrounding area, we try to organize our appointments by location, which means that sometimes the time/date you request may not work for your technician. If the date/time you requested is out of the service location for that day, you will be contacted to reschedule for a time that works for both you and your technician. However, if the date/time you chose works for the technician's schedule, your appointment will be "accepted" and you'll be sent a confirmation email. Make sure to read the entirety of your confirmation email as it has very important information regarding your repair.
  • Do you have a minimum service charge?
The minimum service charge is $40. This is what your technician charges you the minute he parks in your driveway (or parking lot). If you have booked a specific service (like a Tune-Up), the minimum service fee is included in the cost of service. However, should the technician show up and is unable to safely repair your bike, if he needs to purchase additional parts due to a miscommunication during booking, a $40 service fee will be charged.
  • What payments do you accept?
We accept cash and email money transfer. We also have a Square machine which allows us to accept Interac on site. We do not accept credit cards at this time.
  • What if I need a service that is not included in the services page?
Likely, if the service you're looking for isn't in the services page, then you're looking for a repair. Booking a repair isn't as straight-forward as a simple tune-up or tube replacement. We need to know exactly what the issue is, which parts may be required, and will need specific information about your bike (serial codes, product codes...). For this reason, we ask that you visit the repairs page and fill in the Quote Request. A technician will then contact you to get the information he needs from you and will then offer you a quote. Please note: This is not a booking request. This is a request to have a technician call/email you to get the information he needs from you before booking.
  • What areas of Ottawa do you serve?
We serve the city of Ottawa and the surrounding area. From Orleans, to Gloucester, to Nepean, to Ottawa South, to downtown, to Nepean. However, if you are more than 25 km away from the downtown core, there will be an additional $20 charge.
  • Do you service out-of-town areas like Rockland and Carp?
Most of the time, yes. Extenuating circumstances will sometimes prevent us from venturing too far outside of the city of Ottawa, but the vast majority of the time, location is not an issue. That said, if you are more than 25km from the downtown core, there is an additional $20 travel fee.
  • Do you guarantee your work?
    Yes. We guarantee 100% satisfaction.
  • Do you have a warranty for service?
Yes. Our satisfaction guaranteed warranty is for up to 48 hours following service. Due to the nature of our work, once you hop up on that bike, there is no way for us to know if the issues was due to an error on our end or if the ride affected the repair. Before your technician leaves, he always double checks the repairs and takes the bike for a spin. If you're home at the time of service, your technician will show you the work he completed and assure you that all is well. If you're not home, we recommend taking a very quick ride to ensure there is no clinking and clanging; however, whether or not the warranty will be honoured is at the discretion of your technician.
